Well, today is my last full day here.......I don't want to go back.

Nomoresnow....you sound JUST like my wife. She also was NOT kidding.

I'm hoping that last part comes in for the van. If not, it will be ok, but it would be better if it did. Actually, the parts it needed were not major ones.....it's not like the engine blew or the transmission went out on it.

The van actually looks great. I've always taken good care of it. We have annual inspections in NY, so you have to keep them up.

I bought it years ago from a senior citizen who drove it down to Florida every winter, so it did not see any NY salty winters, but had miles.

I replaced the water pump less then two years ago, but they can go whenever.
The van now has 218,000 miles on it, and does not owe me anything. It does not use oil, etc.

Some people would say I'm a dummy to drive a 200k car down here and back, but when everyhing is working good and checks out, and many parts HAVE been replaced through the years, it did not seem like a big risk. I would not endanger the family.

I think you can have car problems on a trip with almost anything. I guess life itself has some risks.....

Anyway, once I get back home up north with it, the van will resume its role as a local grocery getter. By the time we get back, our newest vehicle will be ready to be picked up......the one I WANTED to drive down here.

Frank D.

If your wife is as nice as you, I'm flattered that I sound like her, Frank.

I don't want to go back, but i'm kinda used to a paycheck...

today the wife will get all the laundry done, clean, etc, ( I'll help), and get the place looking as nice as when we walked in.

I'll be working on the van.

We are praying for a safe uneventful trip back. I usually fly, but this time the rates were too high and the trip was a last minute plan.

Too bad you can't stay there for a few more days. We have a Noreaster(?) coming on Sunday into Monday. Upstate NY is getting snow. They aren't saying how much. Downstate NY it wil be a lot of rain and wind. The weather forecasts are saying be prepared for power outages because of the high winds.

Ain't it lovely? What ever happened to SPRING?

I agree. 1 month into spring and it's 30 out. I can't wait to get out of here and never look back.

Hi, Dreamer. We're planning on leaving this great state of NY in Sept. if the house sells, etc. Poor Frank and his wife have 4 years to go. Keep your fingers crossed - open house tomorrow. I hope the weather holds off till 3:00.
