In Vero Beach, on Florida's East Coast, real estate prices are about 50% of what they were at the peak in 2007. If you have the patience for a short sale or foreclosure, you might pick up a property at 40% of what it would have cost you a few years ago. The seaside community offers theatre, the Museum of Art, parks, beaches, and restaurants that other towns its size do not offer. In addition to Fortune 500 CEOs, residents include Gloria Estefan (singer), Jon Bon Jovi (singer), Prescott Bush, Jr. (son of Senator Prescott), Mardy Fish (professional tennis player), Sandy Koufax (professional baseball player, Prince (musician), and Sylvester Stallone (actor). ***MOD***

Winter Park on the northern edge of Orlando is certainly upscale. Downtown is a lovely place to stroll on a Saturday afternoon. Nice farmers market downtown on Saturday morning.

Many like Winter Springs, Lake Mary areas.

I like the Sarasota and Tampa areas mainly because of the beaches.

The panhandle is amazingly beautiful.

Ft Lauderdale is also amazing.

Just so many areas to chose from.

Hi, I´m a 63 yr. old panamanian with a wife. We are retired and planning to move to florida. We lived in Phoenix, AZ. for about 26 yrs., but can´t take the heat anymore. We have been doing some research on the St. Augustine area which seems nice. I´m not looking for work, just to take it easy and to get rid of some stress. What would you all recommend? Thanks.
