Actually, yes. Pool and beach season. It's always sad about Octoberish when water temps in the pool dip below 80 and make it impossible to use.

More like 4 months of summer. The rest of the time it's nice.

You said most people that love the weather haven't been here long or haven't moved here permanent yet which is just another statement that can't be backed up.
Look at these poll results. Shocking how close it is. I bet way more of those who voted yes to this poll have never lived here versus those who voted no. Why hang around and vote a poll in a thread of a state you have never lived in and probably don't plan to move to either? But the poll should have specified SoFla because north FL has no where near nine months which skews the results in your favor even more.

Agree most don't have either. Pick your poison Miami or Fargo if you want extremes...lol Where I grew up in the north the winter is now so much shorter than back then. I mean 'brutal' winters in NYC, Philly or DC these days has to be some kind of joke from my perspective. DC had one 'snowstorm' (blizzard?) this past winter where the falling snow/sleet within the beltway melted the same afternoon never even sticking to the roads for rush hour traffic which was non existent anyway because they called it a snow day and everybody was off<g>

John, from where I'm standing and from where I've stood, Miami is not anywhere close to being an extreme weather city, for I've lived in cities that make Miami's summer weather seem rather chilly by comparison and in some of those cities I did not have a/c or reliable a/c. In addition, I've also lived in places where I've had to deal with serious cold, in fact much more serious than the typical Fargo winter or your NYC, Philly, and DC winters, so again, by comparison summer in Miami is barely a noticeable concept to me. Me telling you all of this is really pointless, because, to you, Miami's summer could still be the worst thing ever.

The heat doesn't bother me too much, but I also live on the coast so there is always a constant breeze. Eventually you will get used to it.

I don't really understand why some people here complain about it. You live in Florida, tropical/subtropical climate, what were you expecting? Snow?

The Florida section of this site always has the biggest whiners for some reason. Seriously I have looked at the other boards and they don't get all the haters like we do here. I'm starting to wonder if these people even live here in the first place, if I hated a place as much as you guys do I would leave it, not sit around and troll a forum.

Oh yea. these people complain worse than High School child. I look at it as its a good way to weed out the Whiners and get people who actually like Florida for what it is.

No More, No less!

I don't mind the 9 month summer absolutely love it. I hate cold weather so the heat and humidity are right down my alley.
