Based on what I'm looking for currently, I'm thinking about a move to either the LaBelle area or to the Okeechobee city area. If you absolutely had to chose between moving to either of those two towns, which one would you pick and why? Thank you all. God bless.

I'm not sure. Okeechobee seems like it's more than just a crossroads, but LaBelle certainly is closer to an urban area, which would offer all the amenities that you couldn't find in the town proper. But if I had to pick one, I'd probably go with Okeechobee.

I'm leaning towards Okeechobee, but I'm cautious because it seems like this area has more alligators. I'm looking to live out in a rural area, but not too far out. I guess I can just get a little farther away from the lake.

Alligators are everywhere, don't let that affect your decision. Just teach the kids to watch for them, and don't feed them!! I've never been to LaBelle, but I have been to Okeechobee, and it seems like a nice town. It's not too far from the amenities of Port St Lucie either. If you want the cracker lifestyle, that's the place!

I live in Labelle now,but if you want to live in the country then Labelle is the right place for you,but it does get very cold.
