What a sham!

The legislature which a while back forced the counties to assess property at full market value now allows them to freeze those assesments at the absolute top of the real estate bubble! Plenty of these tax assessements have gone up 300 percent in 5 years and the property taxes along with them.

Your property values are falling fast now but your tax assesments wont fall a penny because they will be frozen at the peak values determined on Jan 1, 2006!

Given the current collapse in the real estate bubble you will probably not see your property values return to 2006 levels for 5 years or more!

In return, after getting a flood of new property taxes in their coffers for the last 3 years, the counties will give back just 3 to 9 percent!

The arrogance and the greed of our politicians and government workers is simply incredible!

Tax plan includes savings of $32B | Gainesville.com | The Gainesville Sun | Gainesville, Fla.

'The less controversial thrust of the plan would force city and county governments to freeze property tax collections at the 2006-07 levels and then impose an additional cut ranging from 3 percent to 9 percent based on the revenue increases during the last five years.'

BTW, the much touted 150k homestead exemption will not fly. It is only there as a bogus sweetner for this bitter pill that those idiots in Tallahassee and their local mafia cronies are cramming down our throats.

Funny but sadly true. All kidding aside I think it is time for a little revolution.
A simple grass roots organization to vote OUT every elected offical throughout the state. 1776 started with "one shot heard around the world"
Lets fire our first shot. We have the internet, this website, a good number of people who post and probably 1000 X more people who read this.

We can expand onto other websites, the comment sections of local newspapers in the entire state as well as the dirtbag politicians own sites. There is a ton of date out there that we can use. We don't need much just the ability to try to turn the sheeple back into "we the people" The politicians are better organized then the Army and probably better funded. Here is an example of what they do

http://www.fhba.com/docs/FL%20Counti...20Playbook.pdf

They ARE organized to SCREW us, the taxpayer, and it is definitly time to fight back.

Whadda ya say boys and girls???? Shall we lock and load and get rid of the bums?
