I am new to this forum and am looking for some city information for the west coast of Florida. I would welcome any information on cities in the 10-50,000 population range, back from the ocean is great but not more than 30-40 miles, high percentage of white, well educated retired or semi-retired. Thanks for any help.

If you want to be 30-40 miles from the ocean, try the East Coast, not the West Coast of Florida, unless you move to the Keys.

Default Bonita Springs

Bonita Springs may be nice for you. There are many well-off, retired people who live there. It is half way between Naples and Ft. Myers. Bonita Beach is obviously close to the ocean, with Bonita Springs a little more inland (but not 40 miles, more like 1-5 miles inland). They have many new upscale shops going in all the time, with a huge upscale outdoor mall on US 41 and Coconut Road. And of course, lots of golfing options to choose from.

Check out Inverness or Crystal River. I think one of these places might be what you're looking for.

The ocean is on the east coast, the west coast has the Gulf of Mexico.

Thanks for all of the replys. I guess I didn't realize that there was a difference between the Gulf and the ocean. I am hoping to relocate to the west coast and would like to be within a short of the Gulf!!
