I would say 8 to 10, if in the mood I can cook or bake anything...if not in the mood I don't much care what I'm rated

Poor.

I like to say that dinner's ready when the smoke detector goes off.

I'd like to put that thing on a switch, so I can switch it off instead of waving the smoke away from it all the time.

I am average I guess; I am good at roasting things, making salads, cooking fish, and certain ethnic cuisines. I can make most things with a recipe. I am not good at all at making bread or pastries.

Skill wise I'm a 5 as for taste I would say my food is an 8, I have a lot to learn. Desserts are usually easy. I want to be a gourmet cook and I dont mind cooking as long as I dont have picky eaters. People usually like my food and I usually cook from scratch the only thing I eat thats boxed is couscous.

It's hard to say because I don't have a very large menu of things I cook, HOWEVER, things I do know how to make are a definite 10.
Meats and poultry are my specialties. Great lamb chops, meatloaf, chicken soup, breaded cutlets...and my side dishes are very delicious too. Just the way I make potatoes and vegetables, I put lots of spices and cayenne pepper and garlic...my husband loves it.

I want to learn how to make more different things.

I don't like baking.

Yes, I can cook, but it is an everlasting process.

You can always learn something new, try a new dish, a different cooking technique.

That is the fun of cooking.

I never learned how to cook. My mother never wanted us near her in the kitchen, fearing that we would make a mess, I guess. I eat a lot of frozen food and ready-made stuff. Funny thing is, I have a great interest in food and probably would be a good cook if I had some guidance. I watch a lot of Food Network and subscribe to their magazine! I wish there were more recipes and food items out there for one person and not a family.
