How to spend the least amount of time in the kitchen as possible, and don't use the oven unless you have to. Share your suggestions.
Here are mine:
use rice cookers, microwaves, and crockpots
take it outside to the grill
make smoothies from fruits and veggies
make fruit and veggie salads
cook once a week and freeze, then just microwave
On a really hot day, I usually make tuna salad (I keep tuna in the fridge), slice some tomatoes and cucumbers, and have plenty of iced tea and lemonade.
I grilled out tonight and served an cold Asian cole slaw. My instant read thermometer read 97 degrees as I was standing in full sun. Thank goodness the grill has a tree canopy for shade!
I went ahead and grilled chicken for tomorrow's dinner which will be Cantonese Tomato Beef | Appetite for China but with chicken. I will serve it with leftover rice from last night's dinner.
I also make lots of salads. I avoid turning on the oven as much as possible. I am not a big fan of sandwiches for dinner but I will pick-up Bánh mì - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia if I am in that part of town.
Tossed salad, Tuna salad, cold cut sandwiches, get take out.
