That lemon cake sounds good, I love lemon stuff. My grandma had a great lemon bar recipe.
My spouse grills a mean steak and barbecues chicken. He does cook, in 20+ years I have never seen him bake. He does keep the local bakeries in business though
My new years resolution is to bake more cookies and freeze them for the kids lunches. The store bought cookies are getting too expensive and the packages are getting less and less in them!
I think the prepare it quick thing is definitely a factor. I think professional bakers in commercial bakeries are men because the job requires heavy lifting, etc. I used to work in a bakery. I don't know if I could lift some of those trays and all that dough.
