I'm grilling steak, baked onion, baked potato, peas and gourmet brownies.
Of course, he's also getting the sheep herder special.

An IHOP type breakfast at home. Maybe some scampi for dinner and his favorite dessert.

Sounds wonderful. We just got back from Fathers day early dinner. More on that later, but just a brief comment: don't order steak at a Mexican restaurant and if you order a martini and the waiter sorta stares at you, be prepared.

My daughter and I prepared my husbands favorites. We had a Father's Day luncheon. We made Sloppy Joes, (vegetarian) grilled corn, cucumber and tomato salad with dill dressing, baked beans and and old favorite - pineapple cheese casserole. YUM! Brownies for desert.

I baked DH a blackberry pie - our youngest daughter and I picked the blackberries yesterday. Tomorrow I am making him blackberry cobbler. The fields are exploding with them. My own father passed away 23 years ago, but we celebrated with my father in law on Friday (he went out of town to visit DH's sister for the weekend). I served German Chocolate cake - one of his favorites.

My father-in-law is visiting from Florida and we learned, while my mother-in-law was here over Mother's Day, that either parent day is not a good time to go to a restaurant -- prices are doubled, as are crowds and volumes.

So, tonight I'm making spinach salad (spinach, grape tomatoes, little chunks of smoked Gouda, and broken-up pretzel pieces for crunch); and chicken marsala served over mashed potatoes.

i love the pretzel idea for crunch. I think I am going to try that. The combination of the crunch and the salt sounds great.
