It's a silly rule to begin with?

So any rule that you think is "silly" is fair game to be broken, and you get to decide which rules are silly? I'm sure most bank robbers think that the rules against taking the bank's money are "silly", too, and people that rob or burgle other people think that it's "silly" for those folks to be upset at having their money taken from them.

Like I said, the entitlement attitude around these days is going to be the ruin of our culture (if it hasn't already).

You clearly don't understand how the industry works. A movie theater today is in the concession business. They really don't make money from the ticket you buy, especially on blockbusters, because the money mostly goes to the studios.

But the movies provide the customers, so there's been an interesting development recently... a number of theaters are now offering free admission to movies and TV series that cost them little or nothing to screen, just to get some people in to buy the popcorn.

And maybe a t-shirt.
