I'm curious if anyone here really cannot stand the taste (and in my case, smell) of curry. I know it's incredibly good for you but I just take tumeric alone. I really cannot stomach the taste of any kind of curried food. Smell of it cooking burns my bloody nose, too.
Do people here like some/most curried dishes? Has it ever made anyone sick (diarrhea or the like)? And do you think people (outside of food outlets) who cook with it/eat it should be a bit more considerate when dealing with others? I can't help but be irritated when the sharp smell bursts into my nose (from my neighbour's, for example) and makes me cough/sneeze or when someone talks to me & I smell their curried breath.
Nope! Out of what must be three million things that "curry" can be composed of or is, I have loved every one of them that I've had. I use curry powders in so many of my meals (especially atop eggs!) and I absolutely love curry goat (Jamaican).
I like curry but it doesn't like me. I don't like the smell of most colognes and personal care items. The stench of shampoo, soap, deodorant, body spray offends me. Why does everything have to be scented?
Curry is quite a complex mixture of spices and can be configured in hundreds of ways.
You need to discover what it is in the curry that bothers you then just eliminate that particular aspect of the conglomeration called curry. Curry powder - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Curry also comes in many different forms of preparation maybe its just one particular type of curry you dont like. https://www.google.ca/search?num=10&....1.nBPbAKq7yTs
I like to make my curry from scratch and dont really resort to using preprocessed stuff out of a bottle..
I can't stand Indian curries at all - bleh! I have tried several times and I just find them awful. However, having said that I do quite like Thai curries.
I don't like curry either. Never have. Just something about it bothers me, both the taste and the smell.
But it isn't a big deal. I tend to avoid Indian restaurants and dishes that contain curry. I don't like the smell, but you can't control other people so I just steer away from places I know it will be and if I get a whiff at other times it is no big deal.
Like it, but there are many different types.
I have one spice I use: red coconut curry that I use on chicken and it is very mild.
I also like thai green curry.
Some are not very spicy at all. You are right though, the smell lingers...
