Since it's the Friday before a holiday weekend, we decided to have Thai food from our favorite place down the street. We had garlic pork with broccoli and Thai-style barbecued spare ribs with shrimp fried rice.
Totally changed my mind on dinner tonight as the time to prepare and eat dinner approaches.
Instead, my Crockpot 'baked beans' atop a baked potato with sliced yellow onions. Tomato slices topped with garden fresh basil and a side of artichoke hearts in a balsamic vinegar.
For tonight I made Bavarian Pretzels and with it we will have Sauerkraut and baby meatballs and also as a second choice Bratwurst and the men will have a few chilled beer and myself a cold Perrier water with lemon. For dessert pink Buttermilk dessert with vanilla sauce. ( a dessert from East Prussia)
4 ½ Liter Buttermilk
750 g Sugar
Vanilla sugar
Lemonjuice
1 Tblsp. Rum
250 ml Water
white Gelatin
a touch of red food coloring to make it pink
I got a huge take it away plain pizza. I will put a whole bunch of low fat mozzarella cheese, tons of onions and green peppers, lots of mushrooms on my side and a handful of pineapple bits on the wife's side. Lots of pepperoni slices and a handful of crumbled Italian spicy sausage. Then I will sprinkle parmesan cheese some oregano a bit of basil and some course ground black pepper all over it. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!!!
