i find the lingo interesting, and it varies just in new england, - and more elsewhere.

a few years back, a woman said she is making "hot hamburgers" , so i asked...what exactly is that? she said, it is just a burger patty, no bun...but thats what they call it in her family, for generations

Made a jumbo green salad and topped it with tuna salad, cole slaw, macaroni salad, shredded cheese, raisins and sunflower seeds. I decorated all around the plate with chunks of cantaloupe and strawberries and topped it all with a small amount of honey mustard dressing. Yum!

We are having a taco salad, topped with guacamole. Today is a bridge day, plus we are having a mini heart wave or so they tell us. I don't think it is any hotter than normal for the last few days of August, but regardless, a salad just seem right.

Last night we had salmon, rice salad, asparagus. Tonight we are having ginger pork, rice, salad. I may or may not make brownies for dessert. I'm still debating.

LOL this reminds me of what we call eggs over easy or fried eggs, whatever you call them, in our family. We call them "big eggs." We know it's not the PROPER term but we don't care! We like calling them that. "Do you want scrambled eggs or big eggs?"

When I was growing up I called over easy eggs 'grandpa's eggs' because that's how my grandpa always ate them. "I want grandpa's eggs!"

Yummy ham shanks and white beans. My local co-op has the best ham shanks I've ever eaten. Crave-worthy food!
