I've thought of getting a pressure cooker but your story about your Mom blowing one up is what keeps me from getting one. My Mom blew up one too......food all over the kitchen and the top of it bouncing around the room. But if you say the Cuisinart is safer I might consider one of those.

Years ago we went to a cooking demonstration where a guy was selling pressure cookers and waterless cookers. The food was really good and cooked fast.
