I make half a pot of coffee every morning. I drink it over ice in the summer (which is half the year where I live) and hot the rest of the time. After that, it's just water. If it's particularly hot, I make at least a couple of glasses of that water about 1/3 Gatorade or cranberry juice. I enjoy a glass of ginger ale from time to time, so that's always in my fridge. There's always milk in the house, too, because I put it in my coffee and I eat a bowl of cereal a couple of days a week.
My Sunday morning coffee so I can enjoy the day before the old ball & chain gets up.
She's being a real horror this weekend.
Maybe I'll get me some spaghetti and sausage reheats in a little while.
Thanks to Type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol, I no longer can have the occasional Starbucks coffee drink to which I used to treak myself. So, I created one:
In a large glass (though a small amount could be mixed):
1) Start with a large spoonful of instant coffee (Even Wal-Mart's inexpensive brand will do.)
2) Add a generous dollop of dairy creamer, adjusted occasionally when I want a richer flavor (I prefer Cinna Bon or Caramel Macchiato. Also, there are sugar free creamers.)
3) Fill with skim milk.
Stir vigorously. Most of the time, I place it in the freezer till it begins to get slushy. Although this isn't an exact match, I've never had another Starbucks. Sometimes, I use this as one of my meals, having it with a muffin, some vanilla wafers or other such treat.
