My 2nd double espresso of the *ahem* afternoon. Someone slept in very, very late today. Got carried away with the movie collection last night... when the birds began singing their morning tunes, I figured I should finally call it a day.
For the locals or movie buffs, you'll know that Coronado is a wonderful beach... it houses the famous hotel where 'Some Like It Hot' with Marilyn, Jack Lemon & Tony Curtis filmed all those decades ago (looks exactly the same & is $$$$$, even if just stopping for a drink/lunch). When I lived in downtown SD, I visited often as it was a 10-min, gorgeous drive over the bridge. Now that I'm further north & living at the beach, I haven't been to Coronado for awhile. I must visit before I leave the area... although the sand fleas or horse flies or whatever they're called are gnarly... we don't have those further north & they are a gruesome lot to deal with if standing still... one must stay in the water or keep on walking away from the seaweed clumps... quickly.
My point for the above paragraph is that the Coronado Brewery is on the Island. If anyone is looking to visit the San Diego area... please put Coronado on your list... a ferry leaves regularly from the downtown area (for about $12) or it's an easy drive over the Coronado Bridge. It's a large island with a great commercial/retail area (the restaurants/small hotels are lovely), but more importantly, a wonderful residential, family community, with very lovely people.
My 2nd double espresso of the day. Then, I'm going to have fresh squeezed lemon water for the rest of the evening, as I'm parched lately & have a dozen, giant lemons to use up. What is it lately with the size of fruit... it's monstrous & delicious!
