Salt is still not recommended for people with hypertension. If you're healthy, it's not as bad for you as they once thought, but if you have high blood pressure, it's a no-no.
We should not condemn an entire class of restaurants because some people can't eat their food. Many people are allergic to shellfish, but at doesn't mean we close the seafood restaurants. It means that those people have to take responsibility for themselves and eat elsewhere.

I never suggested otherwise. If you have hypertension, gluten allergies, peanut sensitivities, etc, it's not up to the fast food restaurants to cater to you.
I haven't eaten at McDonald's in years, but have been tempted to go the last few weeks. I like the cheeseburgers, fries, and chocolate shake's. The Big Mac is also good.
a co-worker and i stopped by a mcdonalds yesterday, 16 employees working, and it took 10 minutes to get two easy items,,the front two cashiers were just very slow, and confused- 3 women putting up orders, not communicating to each other- the guy in front of me,,had his order put up twice, while a line of ten people waited, my simple order of 2 items was messed up, not once did those 3-4 employees talk to each other,,,on who was doing what, one cashier got a bit frustrated and ..just left...
the two slowest employees, they had up front,,,just seemed odd... other locations, they are much quicker and organized
anyways,,,the place was busy- most seemed to be ordering the 1.00 coffee and other dollar menu items

People who are on salt-free diets can't go to McDonalds or Wendy's or any other fast food to get something to eat. In fact, it's hard to go to any restaurant and find something on the menu without salt or sodium. Some restaurants get heavy handed with the salt shaker and once you cut down or stop eating salt, it's hard to even eat food with salt content.
I personally think that sodium content should be limited or done away with in restaurants of any kind, and let the person ordering the food, put on the salt. This would then allow us No salte people at least be able to go to places and take advantages of the Value Menus and other discounts and even be able to find food suitable for a special diet.

But that would be catering to a minority, like vegans or something. In some restaurants though you can request them to do that, if they cook to order.
