McDonald's employee resources website once again is giving out worker advice that doesn't seem to fit. This time, it's about the industry it helped make ubiquitous — fast food.

"Fast foods are quick, reasonably priced, and readily available alternatives to home cooking. While convenient and economical for a busy lifestyle, fast foods are typically high in calories, fat, saturated fat, sugar, and salt and may put people at risk for becoming overweight," reads one post on the site, which includes a picture of a hamburger and fries, two items that the fast-food giant specializes in selling.

Reminds me of the odd situation where they show pictures of rotten lungs and warnings like *smoking kills* on cigarette boxes, yet they keep selling cigarettes because they are big business.

There are a lot of taxes associated with the manufacture and sale of those cigarettes.

Maybe they should do that to their customers. Oh yeah, they'd hurt their business.

most people smoked 40 years ago,,,, hardly anyone i know smokes now,,

also keep in mind,,,if cigarettes are so bad they should make them illegal- however,,the government taxes the hell out of them so the government has a vested interest in people smoking,,, the revenue funds alot of gov. programs

thats like
we have the technology to cut gas consumption half.(how about an electric car under 10k cost).. the fed and state government doesnt want this either,,,they make hundreds of millions if not billions on gas taxes off every gallon.. of gas..

Oh, yes, taxes, that, too. Wasn't there a fat tax in the news some time ago? In Europe if I am not mistaken

its so incredibly obnoxious that people are picking apart things said on the mcdonalds web site. so they give people advice that makes sense but apparently its wrong to give them tipping advice since they are so poor or diet advice since they are a fast food chain. i just saw that McDonalds took the site down. thank god because now i don't have to see fat annoying people that think they are wonderful criticizing everything mcdonalds puts on it.
