We moved into our new construction house 8 years ago and had an original Kitchen Aid Architect series range put in. It was a nice looking and functioning range and the convection over was great for baking. However, we had two control boards go out in the first 6 years. They sent me the part for free the first time (retail is about $400 IIRC) but would not pay labor. I ended up doing the repair myself and it worked for a couple of years and went out again. When they go out, the oven cannot be turned off by the control panel. Most people on the web said to use the breaker, but I realized that I could set a timer for a minute later to turn it off so we did not replace it the second time and eventually bought a new dual fuel range last year.
I absolutely LOVE this range! It has the double oven, I mostly use the top small one because it's all I ever need, but the lower one is great and has convection - I bake bread in it. The top has many different size burners, plus a warmer AND a bridge burner than connects three. It is also great-looking. I always say if I ever move, this baby's coming with me!
