I don 't care what kind of potato or fake potato chip there is out there, I haven't met one yet I didn't like, lol

A few brands (Groff's and Middleswarth) have their lighter color because they're fried in lard rather than vegetable oil. Bon-Ton might also be one of these; I haven't seen any in quite a while.

Wise always used vegetable oil exclusively to market their product as "pareve"; and on a few ocasios, they would completely scrub out a fryer, bring in a rabbi, and make "glatt kosher" chips for Passover. I'm not completely familiar with the dietary constraints here, so maybe someone else can fill us in.
