I know I have and have saved a little over 100 a month not eating out . and if you add that up at the end of 12 months I will have enough for a cruise ...much more worth it than eating out .

One suggestion I'd make to those who'd like to go out and be served occasionally but don't like how pricey some places have become would be to go for lunch, most lunch menus are considerably lower priced than the dinner menu and in a place that cares about its food you usually get the same quality.

Happy hours are another good option.
For instance- there's a local place that does great Neapolitan pizza with some really good happy hour choices. My wife and I can each have a small pizza marinara or margherita and split a half-carafe of house red for $20 total. It's a nice treat that doesn't put much of a dent in our budget if we do it sparingly.
Happy hour for me please. If I want to go out I'll go out. I do limit the amount of work related outings I do though, going to lunch 5 days a week with people from work is just overkill IMO. I'd rather take a woman out with me than Steve the accountant, just sayin'.
Ever since DH was diagnosed with cancer, I made a decision to cook at home every night and not use preservatives. We do go out every once in a while, usually for breakfast about once a month, but rarely for dinner any longer. We have saved a lot of money and have become much healthier.
I go all the time,
but, I know what to order that's delish, but not expensive.
