Yet another day in the 80s I will grill marinated lamb neckbones, rice pilaf and steamed zucchini. For the marinade: cayenne pepper, turmeric, paprika, olive oil, fresh lemon juice, thyme, garlic powder, soy sauce, salt and rosemary.
Father's Day gut-buster dinner for the Mr. and his dad: eye round roast beef with gravy, mashed potatoes with cheese and bacon, green beans, Hungarian bread, apple pie with homemade vanilla bean ice cream. I just need to pick up my father-in-law's favorite beer, which is Trader Joe's Simple Times pilsner.
We will leave in a couple of hours for daughters to celebrate dad's day with the family. They are grilling burgers, we are all bringing something. I am making a huge fruit salad with about 7 fruits. I am making a sour cream/ coconut milk dressing for those who want to add it. Some of the family do not like anything with mayo or sour cream, so I have to keep the dressing separate.
Our Father's Day dinner will be boiled lobsters with a strawberry, spinach, gorgonzola salad. Steamers too if they look good today. Bowls of broth and melted butter for dipping of course!
Happy Father's Day to all!
I'm going to meet up with some friends for sushi and drinks later on. Honestly sushi is not my favorite, but we only meet up like this once a month so what the heck...I'll order some cali rolls!
