Okra and Hominy, get off my lawn!!!!!
Oh, yeah, I gag on okra, and it IS like snot. Disgusting.

My grandma, on the other hand, who lived with my family growing up, loved the stuff, so guess what was served in almost every meal in the summer (cuz she grew it in the garden)?

I always lost a lot of weight every summer....

Hey...I just had a thought....what if I make okra with my meals now? It will cause me to gag, I won't be able to eat, and I will lose weight! This might be the next big diet craze!!

Shrimp, oysters, mussels, sushi....gross and gag-inspiring to me.

Raw oysters look like snot balls. If I want that, I'll just get a cold and deal with the aftermath.

I'm a walking contradiction with "broken" taste buds.
Arugula and collard greens can go kick rocks. Too bitter to me. But I love turnip greens and mustard greens. Mustard greens are slightly bitter to me too, and I was told once that most people find turnip greens more bitter than collard greens.
Dill pickles are too sour for me, yet I love to eat lemons straight.

Btw, random fact for those who were wondering:

Swai is a type of Southeast Asian catfish.

Catfish - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Shark catfish - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Iridescent shark - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hmm... interesting. According to this:
http://www.chefs-resources.com/Is-Vi...-and-Basa-Safe
Swai and Basa cannot be legally marketed as "catfish" in the United States, even though, scientifically, they are recognized in the order Siluriformes (catfish).

There is no substitute that will give you the same flavor profile.

It's an either love it or hate it reaction in my experience.

Are you referring to fried okra, or okra prepared by some other method?

If fried properly, okra should not be slimy at all. I ask for it "Extra crispy" wherever I go.

+1 on the hominy.

Any cooked okra, in my experience, has some degree of sliminess to it. Whether fried, in gumbo, etc., the okra itself (even if the outer coating was crispy) has the texture of a slimy green one. Gag inducing, in my opinion.

I hate kale, I think it is terrible.
I also do not care for AVOCADOS.

Basically I'll be single forever. :'(
