lol, I had a dad that was very picky and passed it on. however I do eat fish now that I never did when I was a kid. and mushrooms

edited to add just the look of refried beans is enough for me. oh and yogurt have had only one bite.
So is it just the texture of refried beans you don't like? Would you eat pinto beans if they were left whole?

I had to look this up, as I thought sweetbreads were brains but it appears they are the pancreas or thymus gland. Doesn't sound much better than testicles to be honest.

I am amazed by some of the responses.

I am willing to try almost anything at least once, THEN I can say I don't like it.

As an example, sweetbreads are delicious if done right. Deep fried, bacon wrapped are good ways to prepare them.

One thing I probably would not try unless I was truly starving would be Rat. Some Chinese (in China) regularly eat them so they can't be all bad. The thought of the animal grosses me out so I don't think I would like to try it. It's also the fact that rats are mostly scavengers and eat almost anything that does not appeal to me.

But on a related note, I have not tried, Squirrel, Possum, or Racoon.

I have tried Jack Rabbit (not good), Rattle Snake, Armadillo, Alligator, Frogs Legs (which really isn't that weird to me)

Maybe the turtle steak is banned now.

enzymes went thru the roof...I couldn't think straight and no energy!
Didn't drink alcohol or coffee...only distilled water, lemons, cranberry juice, dandelion tea ...it was a long haul!

I just read thru this entire thread to see how DirtGrinder answered. And the answer is... he didn't.

He remains my culinary hero. Guy will eat anything at least once, it seems.

Given enough vodka, I could probably get through most anything. But balut, muktuk/mikiqag, and that uncleaned grilled warthog colon that Bourdain ate would definitely require at least a full bottle, if not more.
