We prefer Kielbasa and that is what I use when I make 15 bean soup.
Smoked sausage is good as well though and we certainly would not turn it down.

Conecuh is my go-to sausage brand for gumbo and red beans and rice . It's also great grilled and for use in any recipe that calls for a smoked sausage.

Do you have a recipe for those Red Beans and Rice?
I cannot find one I like and I do not like to purchase Zatarans (sp) even though we like it I try to stay away from boxed meals like that.

Oh, by the way - I use fresh thyme, not the dried thyme mentioned in the recipe - it makes a difference.

We love smoked sausage

We're going to put up about 60-80lbs this April as soon as the hog is ready. Lean sausage is blended with venison. Going to make a batch of kielbasa, brats and cajun style.

Yes- fresh ingredients makes a huge difference.. Huge.

Why, so you can remotely fly your R/C 'drone' and steal my sausages?
