Yes they are fruit which is why berry pies are called fruit pies.

Tomatoes are fruits too

there are basically fruits, vegetables and grains and dairy and meats and fats and nuts and spices and beans: and things have to fall in those categories

I think from a botanical standpoint, fruit is the seed-bearing part (or ovary) of any plant.
