all the talk about chili, I decided to make a pot. We haven't had it home made for probably a year or more. I started it yesterday, turned the beans off last night and plugged the crock pot back in about 3 hours ago. I added the meat, the peppers, garlic, onions and tomatoes. It looks and smells great. We will have a small salad with it.
Tonight marjoram chicken breast with fine sliced green Bell peppers, garlic mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, carrots, homemade dinner rolls and whipped dill butter. To drink beer or red wine. For dessert King Ludwig Torte with whipping creme and black coffee or Darjeeling tea.
Our lunch guest had to cancel for the 3rd time in about 6 weeks; getting a little suspicious: anyway, we were going to have chicken fried chicken sandwiches. Now, we are having the chili for lunch; will freeze the rest. For dinner we are having the chicken fried chicken with veggies and a huge fruit salad. I have enough fruit to feed the entire neighborhood, so want to use some before it all spoils. We will have cherries, kiwi, blue and raspberries, peaches and maybe melon. I make it with a cream sauce of brandy, a dash of cinn. a dash of vanilla and of course cream.
While out shopping earlier today I bought - on a whim I might add - a Smoky BBQ Fajita Kit, from Old El Paso
Never had one of these before, and am not quite sure what to expect when I start preparing; although given that all the contents will be in its own wrap, including the salsa, I suspect this is going to be rather messy
Will shall see
After last Saturday's rather messy first attempt at BBQ Fajita wrap, I'm going to make a second effort shortly. This time with smaller quantities compared to previously.
I'll slice up red and green bell peppers and a large yellow onion later.
For the pico de gallo, I'll use the food processor to finely chop tomatoes, onions, serranos, garlic and cilantro. salt and fresh squeezed lime juice to taste.
Grated cheese, flour tortillas, and guacamole will be ready too.
Homemade thin crust pizza (well, the crust was frozen)... a four cheese blend. And iced tea.
