1 tbsp butter
1/2 cup diced onion
8 oz sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup vegetable broth
1/2 cup white wine
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons whipping cream
2 tbsp flour
salt / black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley chopped finely about 3 tbsp
I am making these when my son comes home. Alm, about the dumplings - in NY we always had kaiser rolls and they were very easy to obtain. Here in Ohio, they don't sell them. - Is there another kind of roll that would work?

sheena you can use any stale bread or French bread or even hot dog buns. I use hot dog buns for meatballs,meatloaf and even for the dumplings. There are so many light texture bun varieties out there.

Yesterday we attempted a recipe from cook's country on PBS, without the actual recipe because we won't pay for it. Creole Smothered Pork chop. Yummy, but will tweak it next time.
Today I am filling DD request for a breakfast quiche with beef chorizo instead of sausage, going to add a spinach salad too.
I made some pig-in-a-blankets with little sausages and crescent rolls. Served them with some spicy mustard and some raw veggies with ranch. Easy, breezy!
It's just a regular corn bread recipe, but due to the shape, there is more crunchy outside and less soft inside.
Dinner tonight is leftover brisket and fresh mashed potatoes. The salad is getting more doubtful by the minute again.
