The review is a hatchet job, typical of bad British journalism. Using images like "condom" and "burn victim" in a food article is a deliberate choice, trying to grab your attention. I wouldn't eat at that restaurant, but I wouldn't buy that newspaper, either. I don't want to read that kind of offensive garbage. Same reason I don't watch TV news: too much meretricious crap and too little news.

I looked up the critic and it turns out he lavishes all kind of praise on small local diners but rakes bigger upscale restaurants over the coals.

Sounds like an inferiority complex to me.

There is one here ni town, but I have never been there. I am told it is $33 per person, which does not seem crazy. I am waiting for my son to come home. He eats 5000 calories a day. I want to get my money worth.

Hard to get your money's worth even at $33.00. That is more like a lunch cost. Dinners are right at $50.00.
(Full Churrasco Experience Includes Market Table & Feijoada Bar) Drinks, tips, etc. further drain your wallet. High livin' not for me. I'm happy with a decent steak dinner at Roadhouse or 54th Street.

Yeah I'll have dinner with you and I don't even eat grilled cheese or pickles! Those photos were sooooo NOT appetizing. That white milk skin thing was just nasty. Looks like someone had some toilet paper stuck to their shoe and picked it up, didn't know what to do with it so it ended up on the plate.

It's a Michelin three-star restaurant; I'd eat there in a heartbeat. Like film reviews, I take restaurant reviews with a grain of salt. There's always someone with a bug up their... uh... nose.

BTW - go look at their menu. They even have 50,000 bottles of wine on hand.

Eh - I think higher-end restaurants deserve more criticism, because you're paying so much, the food and service better be spot on. At small diners, you expect yummy, more home-style food; at high-end restaurants you expect innovative food, new techniques, superior service, and a sommelier. I think it's natural to be critical of a $700 meal if it didn't meet high expectations, but be far more lax towards (and therefore more likely to praise) a $25 meal.

This is the worst review I have ever read anywhere and this restaurant is supposed to be very top drawer.

Have to scrug these type of reviews off. Not that I would eat there anyway, but reviews are simply a matter of opinion and food is very subjective. all we have to do is read what is posted here.

THAT is the most hilarious review I've ever read.

They fired everyone in the restaurant just about after that review came out. From the Exec Chef and GM on down.

I ate in this restaurant in 2007. George V hotel is fabulous. Husband took me there for my birthday.

Different chef, traditional French. Pressed Duck, etc. Was delicious.

Best meals I have ever eaten have been in Paris or french chefs.

I wonder if this is the British reviewer who hate Guy Savoys in Vegas. If so he has no taste.
