I am reporting from my kitchen while I am waiting for another batch of apple cinnamon pastry/Apfelschnecken to come out of the oven.Next 2 loaves of bread while on the stove the carrot halva/gajar ka halwa is slowly cooking.Tomorrow is Diwali and usually I make sweets and several meals when family gets together.Unfortunately things have changed this year as you know due to the unwanted guest.....

I still will make chicken tikka, basmati rice with cashew nuts, green cardamon pods, cloves, green chili and cucumber raita with roasted cumin seeds, paneer spinach, corn rotis, homemade yogurt and for dessert carrot halva with a cup of Masala chai.

Have a lucky Friday the 13. and a good weekend EVERYONE!

Oh my gosh, love the pictures on this page. Magic, the fondue looks beautiful, and Bellacatahoula, that soup is absolutely gorgeous (I bet it was delicious too!).

Alm, loved your report from your kitchen, which must have smelled FANTASTIC. I hope you are able to have some of your wonderful holiday gatherings this year despite the "unwanted guest."

Your dinner really does sound like the definition of comfort food.
The air fryer is basically a convection oven and it works great when I don't want to heat up my larger ovens (particularly in the summer). I use it a lot for chicken (makes the skin REALLY crispy, YUM) and sometimes for frozen onion rings and French fries (when I REALLY want comfort food! ) or fresh potatoes cut up and sprinkled with rosemary-garlic seasoning (YUM again). DawnMTL started a thread on whether she should buy one and a lot of people added to it -- I tried to find it but it wasn't coming up, then I realized it had been merged with another thread. (That's why Dawn's post is #2 but sounds like an opening post.) Anyway, it's here: https://www.city-data.com/forum/reci...l#post56685624.

Oh, mine is this one: https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/47042727 . Looks like it's on sale now, probably for the holidays. I DO like it but the inside basket's nonstick coating is already flaking off; I'm not sure I'd buy another.

If my husband remembered I asked him to take out chicken cutlets from the freezer because I forgot and since he works from home he has no reason to forget LOL.
Pan fried cutlets with a veggie. Maybe some pasta.

Happy Diwali, Amrausch! I can almost smell the wonderful baking scents coming from your kitchen. All of it sounds delicious.

Magicshark, you have me drooling over your fondue. I haven't had fondue in several years.

Debsi, I think it is time for another photo of Princess Margot, don't you?

Tonight we are having orange chicken, Creole rice, spicy cabbage, martinis and strawberry shortcake.

I went to visit a friend today who is recovering from surgery and brought Mexican food and I picked up enough to have dinner. So, a fajita meal with beef and chicken fajitas, rice, beans, guacamole and some chips and hot sauce.
