Not sure where to post this but I need to serve scrambled eggs to about 20 people at a campout. has anyone ever kept them warm in a crock pot?
No but undercook them or they will get "hard"
I only know this from mass cooking eggs for the Detox.... Like 60 dozen...
It was a pastureized egg in a bottle, not sure if that make a difference..
Funny the clients used to call them powdered eggs, they tasted good fresh.. I think it was the 1 hour holding time!!!!
Can anyone flip an egg in a pan????
You kind of have to make them a little soft...or they will get tough....

It's worth a try, but I'm not sure cooking-wise how much speed you'll get from a crockpot. It'd be much better in a skillet and eggs don't need two hours. May I suggest an open fire??
Speaking of crockpot, folks, I may get it back out in a week or two to do some more chicken and dumplings. What I'd like to try doing again is make another attempt at a chili recipe the way I like it. I may have to wait on doing that until after vacation. I'll keep everyone posted.
Anyone have any suggestions on what to do with those extra cans of cranberry and applesauce? I have been practicing making fruit smoothies with them, and adding bananas and oranges. I haven't tried putting in milk or yogurt yet; but, our overstock of those items is being depleted in time for the next round of holidays.

If they have a label, the Food Bank will gladly accept them.
I am excited, I just splurged and got the Le Creuset dutch oven I've always wanted - Tuesday Morning had 7.25 qt for $184. It's $275 on amazon.com, $375 sticker.
Now I can toss my chipped Lodge knockoff!

You can substitute the applesauce in your baking where it calls for oil or shortenings.
Dehydrate them to make fruit leathers? Or use in a trail mix type of recipe?
Mbanker Oh I remember the days I took cake decorating classes it was a lot of fun with a couple of girls I worked with. Now everybody will want you to make all the family bday cakes.
