How big? We paid $9 for a bag of big baking potatoes at Costco, but that was 15 lbs.

I smell overpriced organic, humanely raised potatoes.

I just checked my Harris Teeter app (since I don't typically buy potatoes by the bag)

5lb bag of conventional red potatoes is $5.99.

Good one. No pitchforks used!

The full-size potatoes here are FLAT. That was a first for me. Makes peeling awkward. I think we pay like $1.50 for a kilo.

I don't know what the price of potatoes is this week, but it is definitely up from what it was last year.

Last week I saw cabbage at $2 a pound and lettuce seems to have doubled in price. Salad is inching up towards the luxury category.

I remember the day that at a young at that time Publix Supermarket raised the price for a 10lb bag of potatoes from 39¢ to 49¢. My mother through a hissy fit over that penny a pound increase.... I keep looking for some Yukon Golds that are organic so I can use them for seed potatoes but have not seen them at any price for weeks now. Regular 5lb bags of reds or russets seem to be stable here for $3 to $4 now.
