I love spicey food and put hot sauce on lots of different foods at times. I've used Tabasco, Frank's, Crystal, Chalula, and some others, but I'm kind of bored.

I like habanero based, chile pepper based, and jalapeno. Anthing esle I should try? Which brands due you use?

Tapatio is good.

I have Frank's and Tabasco at home right now.

I don't like Crystal, it's super weak. I bought it after Emeril first came on the scene with all his "bamming" and getting people cheering over spicy food.. I nearly died laughing after I first tasted Crystal. Like a couple shakes of vinegar ever so slightly flavored with peppers is anything to cheer about!

Sriracha (Or "Hot C*ck sauce" as we call it around our house) is probably one of my all round favorites, but I don't care for it on chicken wings.

Call me a traditionalist, but nothing else works for me on wings like Frank's Red Hot and butter.

But Cholula is really nice, as is Melinda's for Habenero flavor.

I have a bottle of Tabasco, (doesn't everyone?) but hardly ever use it.

I never understood the mentality of 'extreme' hot sauce. Congratulations, you made something so hot I can't enjoy it. Does that make you happy? Yes, I am looking at you, Dave's Insanity Sauce.

I hit up the local Mex restaurant for a quart of hot sauce. Why can't I replicate this stuff?

Thanks. I'm going to look for Tapatio and Melinda's. Any others?

Hmmm, maybe I'll have a hot sauce bake-off and post the results.

I like flavor with my heat -Tobasco is generally too vinegary for my taste. I like Trappey's red Bull. Good heat, good flavor.

If I want a spicy dish I always use Thai red pepper.

But for a slice of pizza I use Tapatio or Jalapeño

I use a plain hot chilli sauce (Sambal Olek) either on its own or as an ingredient, and Thai Sweet Chilli sauce, especially for dipping! yum

I also use jalapeno - and the juice from the jar is really handy. So is Peppadew pepper juice!

Dave's Insanity Sauce

Has anyone read the uses for this sauce? Seems like one of the uses was to clean driveways? I don't think I have a bottle at present but to use it you stick a tooth pick into it and then dip the tooth pick in the dish being prepared. This is not a sauce really because it is more of a pepper extract. It will make your hair sweat thinking about it if you've ever been burned with it. I have.

If I'm cooking Asian dishes I use Sambal Oelek or Sriracha sauces. I like how they're thick and garlicky.

For other stuff I use Mezzeta habanero sauce. Tabasco, Cholula, etc, just aren't spicy enough for me!
