Looks like since Hershey's couldn't pursuade the FDA to change the ingredients of "milk chocolate", now they are making some of their products with "Chocolate Candy" (read - using oil instead of cocoa butter).
Now I have to be careful about which chocolate products I buy for pick-me-ups!!!
This is what I tried to explain in the "Underated Candybar" thread; Hershey's does not care.
It's as sad as a late 70's Ford Mustang II.
You think I WANT to teach my daughter to make s'mores with Nestle chocolate? Of course not, but I gotta do what I gotta do. And yes, I realize that the 'classic' Hersey bar is still milk chocolate, but it's not good milk chocolate. They don't even pretend like it is anymore; remember when they used to come with the brown outer sleeve and the inner foil wrapper? Now it's all one piece. Ugly Susie doesn't even get a nice dress anymore.
My fellow Americans, it's time to march up to Hershey Pennsylvania and kick some bean counter butt.
So, can we morph this into what is the best S'more chocolate bar replacement? We don't have them that often, I wouldn't mind buying a more expensive bar if it will guarantee superb results. Hmmm... does this deserve it's own thread?
Hershey chocolate has always been crap compaired to expensive Swiss and German chocolate. Read the ingreadients on everything you buy and you'll be better off.
