Last year was there was some very interesting recipes for fried turkey
I enjoyed the thread so much, I thought let's give a go at it for the newbies
So was it just a passing fancy?
Or are we going to just do the proverbial "baked"
Or are the real turkey chefs going to take their places in the cold
doting over the fryer with the peanut oil??
Who will have the best recipe for the juiciest turkey imaginable? (Yum)
And what are the trimmings going to be??
Please post your most unique recipes
NO HOLDING BACK PLEASE!!!
"Besides what goes on here..stays here"
Thanks
and Blessings for your Families

My step-son is making a fried turkey for our family this year. We made one a few years ago and although good the cost of the oil is really high. It's fun to do something different once in awhile!! The trimmings....to many to list. Each person coming is bring a couple of side dishes. I'm taking deviled eggs and creamed onions.

The cost of the oil is the reason I don't fry my own. $40 is alot for just one turkey. There is a catfish joint around my parts that will fry one up for you. I simply love fried Turkey.

I have always said that frying a turkey is good for feeding a lot of people quickly, but it's not the best way to cook a turkey.

I'll stick with an outside rotisserie fired with apple, and cherry wood.

The only problem with deep-frying a turkey, is no drippings to make gravy! I HAVE to have real gravy, or it's just not Thanksgiving! Bottled gravy just isn't right, IMO!

To get rid of any fat, I take the juice, and stick it in the freezer--the fat rises and solidifies--you take that out, and all the rest is virtually fat-free flavor! Delish!

Won't be deep frying a turkey this year or any year. Scares the crap out of me all that HOT oil. I think I'll stick with the old fashion oven way

We've been deep frying turkeys for well over 10 years in my family My dad is reallly good at it, and he usually makes a couple of different kinds. Cajun, 'traditional', salt and pepper, bbq seasoning etc. We make at least 5 during Thanksgiving for all our relatives, friends and whatnots.
