I can't believe all these problems were our fault! I feel so sheepish now. Baaaaa.
Wool, do ewe think that's what we get for being so chatty? I guess they didn't have enough ram for us. Maybe we should all go on the lamb, in case the Administrator takes umbrage at our fleecy comments.
I need Elston's chops recipe - any help in finding it would be sooooo welcomed!
Gallon zip-locks, heck - I've got the three-gallon ones!
And I keep Elston's Pork Chops in a word document in my "recipes" file on my hard drive, because I'm too lazy to go digging through 27,000 posts looking for it. The comments I've added as I've made the chops the last couple of times are in [brackets], the rest is straight off Elston's post from the old thread.
Elston's Pork chops
brown them in oil (not to cook 'em.....just to brown lightly
then mix up 2 T brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 tablespoon lemon juice
a couple shakes of Worcestershire sauce
1 can of tomato sauce
1/4 cup water
and I like some chopped green pepper for color and flavor... [or dried red/green pepper to soak up a bit of the extra fluid]
put mix over chops in a baking dish single layer
cover with aluminum foil
bake about 45 mins to an hour at 350*. If your chops are really thin ...... less time.
[Try taking the foil off for the final 15-20 minutes – the sauce caramelizes nicely and is a little thicker. Save the extra sauce – it's great over chicken cutlets!]
No coconut cream pie tonight. It is made but will not be cool enough for the cream topping before almost midnight according to the directions. So it will get creamed and eaten tomorrow night. I just got a glance at the market sale add. Saw spare ribs for a buck fifty nine a pound...Ideas forming.
The count down is on the the coconut cream pie. It is cooling. As nervous as an expectant father again.
...........And as Noma turns his back, one of the kittys jumps feet first from the litter box and INTO THE PIE! What does Noma do??? Film at 11!

Guys I was shaking in my computer chair when I got online tonight and saw the padlock to the old thread. I have had trouble getting on C-D most of the day so I am waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind on threads.
cyn sorry your thread got shut down but you did marvelous girl I am proud of you!
George about the only thing I remember is your picture of your food and it looked good to me!
YLisa after they pick you up come further north to IN for me. You have great will power I admire you girl!
I am bringing zippies too they take up less space that way. I have a ton of brownies and Rice Krispie treats for the road ready gang!
Applebees tonight was a disappointment. The veggie medley was ice cold and hard, cheese was not melted on the chicken but the garlic mashed were good. Others didn't like their meals either we sent 2 meals back for heating. That bums me out because we don't go out to eat that often.
I just made a chocolate bundt cake. DH is eating a piece now. I'm waiting for some herbal tea to be ready.
Cake is not so bad, but not the one I'm looking for. Too crumbly. Does anybody have a recipe for a more pound cake-like moist chocolate cake you can cook in a bundt pan?
Just had hospital food tonight. Not horrible, but certainly not great. Had a pretzel bread ham and swiss. It was interesting. I couldn't get past dipping my bread in mustard.
Have a great night, dinner companions!
