I thought the same thing but they have grown on me lately. The company is pretty cool too, they sent me a free sample box! Nice company. I dig the peanut butter ones. I like them because they are convenient and they 'take the edge' off when your starving.

I agree they're a bit too hard but otherwise, they taste great!

If they're too hard, soak them in a little milk. That's probably where the idea of turning them into a cereal came from.

When I was a teenager I remember trying them for the first time and thought the exact same thing.

Ten years later, I eat them occasionally. The chewy ones aren't like a brick. However, as I got used to eating the chewy ones, I've grown to like the bricks too. I eat them in smaller bites so they're a nice long-lasting snack. I prefer the cinnamon.

However, I have noticed that they don't hurt to eat like they did when I was young. I have a theory on this: American have gotten used to all of their food having the texture of playdough. Anything hard or very chewy hurts to eat because our teeth are spoiled to eating mush. Yeah, its a little far fetched.

ditto. I only buy NV if they're on some sort of super-sale.

Kroger's version is delish, and about 20% less expensive.

I've always loved them, the honey and oats flavor is usually what I eat. Theyre a little hard, but taste great.

Like most others, they're the perfect snack to take the hunger edge away in between meals. I also find that I can toss them in a bagpack or my office desk and they last forever. This way I've always got a snack at work, or when hiking or skiing I just grab them from my bag
