Well, this does it. I've got to have the Mrs. pick me up a couple cans of sardines. I used to get the King Oscar's in tomato sauce and reading about them on bread with mayo & hot sauce was too much ! I gots to have me some! I used to think I was the only one who did that!
Herring in sour cream with onions used to be a favorite snack of mine. There was a little deli where I used to live in the '80's which kept a tray full at the counter. Everything was nice and fresn and if you went in past 2:00 pm, they'd be sold out for the day.

I eat the baby sardines with mustard on crackers. I like a side serving of good cherry tomatoes with them. I never acquired a taste for anchovies, although anchovy paste adds flavor to meat loaf.
Very much. Here in Hawai'i the fish is called Ahi. Garlic Ahi. They sell this whenever available in restaurants. They grill it. Or fry it. And it comes mashed with garlic and butter. I just eat all of it. Even though it may be a little oily. The oil is actually good for you. Omega 6 and Omega 3. One of the them anyway is good for you and helps regulate your red blood cells and white blood cells. This is the good fats in your diet. Fish oils.

Ahi? I thought Ahi was a tuna variety. It sounds delish, whatever it is.
Yes, the Omega fats are what our bodies need. Mostly Omega-3.
No different here, though I've tried different brands when living or visiting other places. There are a couple of sardine or kippered herring brands I enjoy enough to mail order. You might find some variety/sampler packs available through Amazon.
No mail, no deliveries down here. Waaaaah.
We just now got Panko bread crumbs at the big-city supermarket! Our friend used to mule them down, lol.
I love them and always have a few varieties of tinned fish on hand. Something I eat fairly frequently while working from home is avocado toast topped with tinned fish (normally anchovy or trout) mixed with greek yogurt and scallions and topped with watercress. It's simple but so flavorful.
