I think Captain D's does. Captain D's has a better taste and I don't get sick like I always seem to do after eating Long John Silvers.

I concur with Captain D's.
However , I haven't eaten there in over a year. I used to work there years ago , and the managers didn't give a damn - I dropped some cooked fish onto the floor in error , and they got mad at me for trashing it. Said I was 'throwing away money'!! Needless to say , I ended up losing that job 2 days after.

Neither one.
I'd gladly go to Arthur Treacher's.
Maybe I will - today!

Default well...

I get sick every time we eat at Captain D's and after what I saw the last time I was there (buffet night) I don't think we will go back any time soon.

Long John's is "ok" but everything there tastes the same, imo. Fish tastes like chicken tastes like fries. I prefer their tartar sauce and cole slaw out of the two.

Between the two of them I have to say Captain Ds. Do they still do the southern style battered fish? I do agree that everything at LJS tastes the same, lol. Even the shrimp and clam strips tastes like the french fries and chicken strips.

Neither of them are particularly good. Why in the world is the fish so breaded???

My vote is for Captain D's, although my sister got really sick after eating at one, and neither of us has been back to any of their locations.

From what you guys are saying I might have to give Captain D's a try. However I still miss the fish and chips I had in Merry olde England. The chip shop around the corner from where we were staying was the BEST !!

I didn't know either one was different from the other.....both overly greasy, both use some sort of oil with everything cooked in it so it tastes the same.
