Kevco.com - I hate to say it because they are such a-holes but they have a decent pet policy.

Default HELP-Need Apartment w Yard for dog in Fort Collins

Hi! I'm moving in Fort Collins in July or August (VERY EXCITED) but am not having much luck finding a place that will take dogs that has a fenced yard, or a yard that I could fence. I live in a college town right now, and many people that rent out apartments or small houses would not necessarily list on craigslist. They might list in the paper, but the online version of the paper seems to only have condos and apartment complexes. Another questions is is I'm just looking too early? Are there a lot of properties that come up for rent in may?
Thank you!
J

Where have you been looking? Because I just ran a search on Craigslist for housing in/around Fort Collins that take dogs and have a fenced yard and came up with over 100 hits.

Seconded. You should easily be able to find something. You will have to look at a house rental of course. When I moved here 3 years ago I found a rental home with a nice yard for my dog in about a week or 2. Price may be a factor though. In 2006 you were looking at about 1100-1200 for a 3 bed rental. It will be more than an apt for sure. Good luck in your search!

This is where I looked, but there are many others like Craigslist that will work too)

I am having the same challenge. We have a black lab...that fluxuates between 50-60 lbs. most apartments in Fort Collins don't accept large dogs, and the ones that do tend to be pricey.
Best of luck to you!

I too have a larger dog (black lab about 60 lbs). and it is a bit difficult to find apartments that are reasonably priced...that accept large dogs. I hope you find what you need for you and your spouse!

thanks for your inputs...yes, Price is a HUGE factor, as I will be taking an intermnship with a small stipend. I have no problems with being in one bedroom, but would lilke to not pay over $650 as that is what my budget has suggested would be wise. I have two dogs, both considered "large" as one is 40 pounds and the other is 80. That is the problem. I got over 100 hits too, until I factored in rent and needing a yard. Also, many apartment complexes consider themselves to have a yard, but thats not really what I consider having a yard. Thank you all, I appreciate the advice!
Josie
