I currently live in Chandler, AZ (a Phoenix suburb). Have sold my house and am ready to get outta here!!

I have heard, from a couple of sources actually, that an "old boys network" exists in FC that makes it tough to find work...it's who you know and if you don't know these "old boys" you could be out of luck. May be more myth than reality...

I am an accountant and have been working for myself the last few years. I am more than willing to work for someone else. Any one know what the opportunities in accounting look like in FC? I would prefer part-time. I am a CPA but not a tax expert.

Also, I have looked (internet) around for patio homes - single family, no maintenance, $250 price range - but can only find condos, townhouses. Does anyone know of any patio home communities? Is $250 price range realistic in FC?

I am not buying the Good Ol Boys Club comment. No doubt it is a competative job market here, but if you have experience and a good work history it makes it easier. I am not sure about the accounting field. You may want to call some of the accounting firms in the area and quiz them on that. There are many patio home communities in the area. You should not have a problem finding one in your price range.

Default Old Boys' Network

Thanks for the info! I kind of thought the OBN thing might be more myth than reality.

I will try to contact a couple of the accounting firms. Good idea.

When we were looking to relocate up here we looked ONLY at patio homes, although the only place in FC we looked was at Ptarmigan golf course, golf was a necessity too. I think the 250K range may be a bit low. We paid a bit over 300 for 2800 sq feet, in Loveland.

There was another one near us that we looked at that got down into the 280 range before it got a contract so it's probably not out of the question.
