We relocated from CT a month or so ago, and are now ready to buy a place. Looking for a safe community, that's aesthetically pleasing, somewhere between Boca Raton and Pembroke Pines (where we will both be working). We've been focusing on Coral Springs and Coconut Creek - I really like Lighthouse Point but it's a bit pricey. Schools not an issue as we're using private, however for resale purposes, it would be great to be in an area with decent schools.

Price range is 350k-400k.

Any insight would be great.

Smile Broward towns

How about Cooper City?

There's lots of areas but could be a hike to where you are working.

I grew up in Lighthouse Point actually.

Which private schools are you considering?

Thanks, Cooper City seems great but I think it would be a bit far for the Boca commute. We initially looked at Davie but a bit too out of the way for our needs.

Coral Springs is a good town mostly. You're not gonna get a lot with 350-400k right now though. Little 3/2 on a quarter acre, or maybe something bigger if you're able to deal with a fixer-upper.

For $350-400K you could find a nice townhouse.

If you need an easy commute to Boca, then maybe Parkland is a place for you.

I was going to suggest Weston, and I know people who commute from Weston to Boca, but still, it is 40-45 min away. Otherwise Weston would be perfect.

Where in CT are you from? I am very familiar with New Haven area.

P.S. my new construction 2/2 with a loft townhouse is supposed to be finished in November, in Sunrise (beautiful Artesia community). Short distance from American Heritage private school. Wanna buy it? It sits right on the Sawgrass Expressway, for a convenient commute to Boca

The Jacaranda area in Plantation off of Broward Boulevard just north of I-595/Port Everglades Expressway would be a good location to check out as well.

Coconut Creek is a great place to start! Consider looking at places north of Copans road. Its also in close proximity to Boca, Coral Springs, Fort Lauderdale etc.

Plantation is nice and is near American Heritage school. You can find a single family home in your price range. It might be smaller and on the older side but you can find something.
