We are your typical Northern California couple complete with hippie tendencies, cultural diversity and super liberal thinking. We have to make a big decision whether or not to move to Miami/Ft.Laud/Orlando area but are nervous about being completely foreign. Is there anyone out there that's done the move from No-Cal to So-FLa and been happy about it? To give you an idea, we love the outdoors, shop at health food stores, watch mostly independent and foreign films, voted for Obama, and can stand ignorance or people out to prove themselves! HELP!!

Stay away! Stay far away!! You will HATE it here and miss N California SOooo much. Do you have to move to Florida? Ifso, move *only* to Gainesville. We are just like you guys, and moved here 20 years ago, before Miami Beach was on the national radar and it was really cool, and before you knew it, we had jobs, a house, kids, etc., but it is sooooo not our kind of place. As soon as the kids are out of high school, we are so out of here...

^^ LOL fauve is right. You'd have to put Whole Foods on the short list of neighborhoods to move near, to get produce. There aren't many, either.

Besides, you won't have enough time to register in time for another famous Florida election.

I have to second the "don't move here" post. You will hate it, hate it, hate it!

Sounds like a trolling post to me. I actually considered moving to San Jose area from here because the jobs would actually be there for me and the wife, but not too crazy about paying 700K for a 1200 sq ft home.
