I was contacted about a possible job opportunity in Davie with a non-profit organization. If all goes well, I will accept this because I am looking to get out of the north and move to an area where it is warm (it was 45 degrees in DC today, and it is only October. I think it will be a long winter here). Anyway, what would be a place for a 25 year old male to live in? I have been to South Florida before so I'm somewhat familiar with Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale as well as Miami (not considering this as an option because the commute would be more than what I want to deal with). I do like to go out, but at the same time I'm not a barfly or club rat that would be out 6 nights a week. Also, I'm used to living in an area where I can walk to businesses so I wouldn't want to be in the middle of suburbia. As far as cost, I would want to stay at a price range no higher than $750 a month most likely. A side note is I am used to living in what are considered by most as "bad" neighborhoods and I know a lot of people seem to have differing opinions on this (I have lived in Newark, NJ; Pittsburgh, PA; and DC and its not so nice suburbs, so I'm not really concerned with much in this regard).

Your only hope is Hollywood near downtown, where you can rent a crappy apartment in a "nice neighborhood" or vise versa for 750 or less.

750 a month will be very tough as compelled hinted at. I wouldn't know where to start.

I agree with compelled--downtown Hollywood is an option. When I first moved to South Florida, that's where I lived for a little while. The area is a little bit "seedy", but I never had any problems. I also loved that I could walk a few blocks and be on the "strip"(Hollywood Blvd). This is a pic of my building (it's on Monroe Ave):

It was cute little 1 br, and I was paying 750 a month. But this was like 7-8 years ago--so I'm sure the prices have went up some. But that 750 a month requirement you have is going to make it kind of tough. Hollywood is full of cheap studio apartments--you may be able to find that price range with one of those.
