Do you guys have any suggestions on a good bank? The bank I use now here in NY isn't in Florida. I saw a ton of 5/3 banks. Are those good?

We use Bank of America because we can use the ATM all over. We visit NY in the summer and they have Bank of America up there too. We have our business and personal banking accounts with them. No fees with either one.

I would never give my money to BOA out of principle. Too many charges and fees. They even charge you if you want to bank with a teller.. redicuolous

For military moving here, 5/3 offers a refund when you use an atm that isn't a 5/3 one. I think there is a cap, like 10 transactions or something.

for any Canadians on the line, heads up that RBC (USA) has really great online integration of Canadian and US based/transit accounts.

the only caveat is that Royal is looking at selling RBC (USA) according to media reports

BOA (at least multiple states) have 2 tiers for their banking. The "free" checking is if you basically never step foot- direct deposit, use atm. The other checking is a 8.00 monthly fee attached to it maintain x per month in the accounts and/or direct deposit.

https://www.bankofamerica.com/deposi...check_overview

The thing I like with BOA is that when you pair keep the change with a savings account - each time you use your debit card or use your checking(?) that difference from purchase to the nearest dollar will be also subtracted and placed into your savings account. BOA will also match up to a percentage and up to 250.00 each year and on your yearly anniversary, you get all that "change" deposited into your account.
