We ( b/f and I) will soon be moving to either Lehigh or Ft Myers from east Tennessee ,so what I was wondering is where are some of the safe , quieter , clean neighborhood's of Lehigh? What area's should be avoided all together? My b/f will be coming down there for 2 week's to work and while there he is going to find us a place to rent .I don't want to run into the same problem that happened to my b/f's brother and his family when they moved. They moved from Cape Coral to Lehigh ( 52nd Street West)...well while they were going back and forth taking their belongings from the old house to the new house someone stold their air conditioner unit that they had already taken to the new house. I know there are far worse thing's then that which could happen ,but I'm sure you get the point. I'd like for the area to be where you can feel safe having your door open during the day ,not have to be looking over your shoulder when your outside, sleep sound with no worries and I pray that this may be going a bit extreme ,but no worries of drive by shooting's, drug dealer's , prostitute's on the corner's or gang's. If it helps/matters we are in our late 40's / early 50's , Christian/friendly/neighborly and easy to get a long with.We aren't expecting to live in the "55 and older community" In fact the majority of the neighbor's we have now are in their late 20's to early 30's and there are lot's of kiddie's as it's near 2 school's. Any suggestion's appreciated .

The words Lehigh and safe do not go together in my opinion. Just don't go there. There are lots of other places that would fit much better. Always break-ins, drug busts and not to mention brush fires in Lehigh.

Lehigh Acres is probably the worst town in SWF. I would advise that you stay out of there.

So with all of the crime in the area has crime increased on Sanibel/Captiva Islands?

Sanibel is a $6 toll and a world away from Lehigh Acres.
