Hi Friends, I am looking for cheap basic landline phone service in Fort Worth. We use our cell phones for all calls, but we need to keep a landline because we have a home security alarm that requires it for the 911 feature. We are currently paying AT&T $28 a month, which is maddening!! If you are aware of a cheaper option, please let me know. Thanks!

My security system has an adaptor so it works with cell phones; maybe check w/your security company about that.......

Thanks, but we've already looked into it. I wish that would work in our situation!

We had a "metered" rate from AT&T at our old house in Arlington for our security system. I think they charged $12 a month and you got 30 "free" calls a month. You have to call and talk to someone to get that plan. In our new house, we went with the cellular solution.
