I have a situation with a lease that I am currently in where the property management company is trying to get me to pay a late fee on a rent payment from my rent back in April (the letter I got was dated August 16, 2011). They are mad at me because I talked to the owner of the property directly instead of going through them, but I don't think that entitles them to charge me a late fee from a situation that was handled 4 months ago. Does anyone know if I have any options here?
