Hi all. My family and I will be relocating to the fort worth area this fall and we need some help finding a good neighborhood. Basically what we are looking for is something in the $250k range, with good schools, little traffic, access to shopping malls and chain resturants (we love chilis, applebees and olive garden). We would really like to look at homes that look cookie cutter and neighborhoods that have lots of cul de sacks. We would prefer a new home if possible. Also we want to be far away from any amenities that Fort Worth would have to offer. A gated community would be great! I have done some research online and Keller, HEB, Burleson, And Grapevine look nice. BTW We will be working in downtown fort worth and dont want more than a hour commute each way. What do you all think?

Well I'll take you at your word. Far North Ft Worth or parts of Keller would fit your needs. Maybe parts of Grapevine too.

I've heard North Ft Worth described as a "sea of homes". If you're looking northwest from N. Tarrant Prkwy at Denton Hwy you will understand what they're saying. A lot of this are goes to Keller schools and it might take an hour to get to downtown on I 35.

I'm having trouble understanding this statement: "we want to be far away from any amenities that Fort Worth would have to offer." Why would you want to be far away from amenities? That's the same thing as saying, "I want to be far away from the good things about Ft Worth."

This is part of what does not compute here:
want: little traffic, access to shopping malls and chain resturants, cookie cutter, new, gated community
but "we want to be far away from any amenities that Fort Worth would have to offer."

Did you maybe mean "we DON'T want to be far away"?

It'll be hard to find all that within a 250k price range. Burleson is a pretty good choice, as they have great schools, access to chain resturants, the nearest mall is about 20 minutes away though. Also, finding a gated community for under 250k in Burleson won't happen. Quail Ridge Estates is a gated community in Southwest Fort Worth with homes within your price range, however it is in the Crowley ISD, which isn't all that great. You could also check out Mansfield, Sherwood on the Green is a gated community, however it may be hard to find a home in your price range.
